Troop 274 is part of a growing suburban community of 18,000 residents in the town of Avon, Connecticut. Its sponsor is the West Avon Congregational Church. (WACC) The troop has over 90 members. The troop carries out many service projects in the community. Some are sorting food in Gifts of Love, and building a monkey bridge or tower on Avon Day. The troop also went and helped on Extreme Makeover Home Edition. The troop is continuing to be active in the community and elsewhere.
